Izzy MacArthur is a 23-year-old artist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and consummate creative, reimagining diaristic pop through the blend of folk storytelling and synth-driven production. Izzy restlessly hunts for the intersection of artists and storytellers that inspire her from Fall Out Boy and The Killers to Bon Iver and Damien Rice to Lorde. 

Splitting her childhood between New York City and on a blueberry hill in a small fishing town in Maine, Izzy developed an ear and curiosity for the tension between urban and rural, acoustic and electronic. Her lived duality breathes through her sonic world, existing at the intersection of childhood nostalgia and restless curiosity. Born into an imaginative family, Izzy claims the absence of cable TV in the summers forced her and her siblings to “get creative in inciting chaos”, which was “both a headache and encouraged by my parents”.

Izzy’s songwriting commits to complete immersion, thoughtfully and meticulously architecting her universe. As Izzy puts it, “If I can’t tell you whether the lamp in the corner is on and the warmth of the light, if I’m inside or outside, or where the couch is, then the song isn’t mine.” Her dedication to specificity, honed by her journalist parents and musicality, established through her early years in church choir and classical flute, channels influences into stories listeners can see, feel, and hear themselves inside of.
